Autsit 2015
We had another retreat of five participants, and moved the zendo upstairs to the living room. Participants committed to three periods of sitting in the morning and two in the evening, with optional periods throughout the day — an increase in intensity relative to earlier Autsits. We ran logistics more formally than in past years, with participants covering costs before rather than after after the retreat. Each person brought food for, and cooked, one or more meals. Two people supplied lunch fixings and snacks. We corrected for the differences between meal costs at the retreat's end and each person took home any extra food they had brought. Having to prepare meals quietly while others sat in the zendo nearby was an unexpected mindfulness-practice bonus!

Our cutting-edge han called us to sit:

The new zendo:

Attention!

Secret codes of the cult:

As in past years, all who wished to gave dharma talks:

Rockin' the zendo

The view while ledge-sitting (Where's Waldo?):

Into the wild!

Far across the Desolation Wilderness, the Crystal Range:

Lake Lucille

Carrying shoes from China (forgetting to forget one)

Balance

That water is COLD: Awake, awake, each one!

Another zen casualty:

We rearranged the furniture for effect:
