Autsit 2019

We had another fine Autsit this year, with five participants. Hal heroically joined us from Joshua Tree and Sarah from Modesto. For Sarah and Paul it was a return visit for more of that old-time quiet upright sitting among autistic friends. For Paul it was a last hurrah before his return for more punishment on the Pacific Crest Trail. Anlor was her usual grandmother-hen to us all. We followed the same schedule as last year—accented with a lovely drive and hike up to Angora Lake, where the winter ice was just breaking up but the fresh lemonade of summer ran free. The weather was varied, with rain and sun and lots of snow on the mountains. Greg, recovering from a very bad cold, learned that you can't always sit macho, and had to lean on the piano a lot. The waterfall was big and loud after the wet winter. Ironically, the water at the cabin wasn't turned on for the season yet and we had to haul it in from the creek. It was all in a day's work for this tough and kind group.
